Colonel Schlatter, as you certainly know, several (in excess of a half dozen) South Korean POWs have escaped from POW camps in North Korea over the past few years.

It shows us that prisoners are still being held, that they survive under less than wonderful conditions, and that they still look to come home. It also tells us that they are held for no apparent reason. . ."pearls of war", perhaps. What is your take on all that, and why couldn't Americans still be alive, particularly in North Korean ? Also, has anyone from the USG ever talked to ALL of these escapees and asked them about who they might have been held with ? What about the North Korean govenment officials that have defected ? High ranking guys who should know something. . . anyone talk to them yet ?

"A" for effort, "A" for excellance. I am thankful for those such as yourself who take time to inform and honor all americans.

I have always respected "Mr. legion in his own mind" until I drove up to Id.and learned there was a linch mom at All most heaven searching fo o'Bo. It seems he had lent his name to some shyster and sold a bunch of land on the side of a hill and then latched on to a young swet thing and headed for Sun City leaving behind his wife to try and strighten out another of his many screw-ups. But then this is another story.

Agin thank you for a well designed site.

I'm a 26 yr old young American. I served 4 on active duty in the Army and 4 more in the California Nat'l Guard. My father is retired Air Force. My brother is W3 in the Marines, in his 12th year. My uncle was Navy, and my father's uncle was a Marine at Omaha Beach in WWII. I read "Spite House", "Passing Through the Night" - all of the books published regarding this matter - and I have a vast interest in the POW/MIA situation, along with our nation's military history itself. I'm totally on your side about the Garwood issue. But, I do have concerns about the truth, etc., regarding our government's handling of this very delicate issue. It's a scary thought, being sent off to war and being left behind - especially in such an alien place like SE Asia. I'm confused. I don't approve of all the scamming liars out there who hawk the POW/MIA merchandise at the Lincoln Memorial on Memorial Day every year. I know that a lot of stuff has been fabricated to stir people's emotions. It's not fair to the families of the missing troops and airmen or to the current troops who face the idea of being sent off to war every day. I just wanted to convey my interest in and fear of this subject. It's very heart-wrenching and scary.

Joe,

You took a page straight from Hitlers playbbok with your comments on LTC James "Bo" Gritz. Tell a lie loud enough and often enough, sprinkle it with a little twisted truth... Presto, you have history.. Alot like our present involvement in Yugoslavia....

I love your analysis of his awards. I am wondering which of your ex-wives you found him screwing... Was it all of them? You are suffering from a deep sense of guilt over something and need to let it go.

I have known Bo for 20 years and he pulled my butt out of HACK more times than I care to remember in Panama. I would be dead now, or in the brig if it were not for Colonel Gritz.... Bo is about the most genuine person I have ever had the privledge to serve under, and while I was not in Nam, but I have seen him stare down Colombian drug lords, US Attorneys', President George Herbert Walker Bush, and the American justice system time and time again.

I was just doing what I was sent to do in Panama (just like in you guys in Nam) turns out there was a law against helping Contra's... But that is another story.

I hope you get help for what is ailing you..

Semper fi,

Mitch Anderton

As a sister of an MIA, I am not quite sure what to think about this site.

My brother, Mickey Allen Wilson was the commander of a helicopter that was shot down on 1/8/1973. There were 6 men on board. They were ALL missing until 1996 after I made my first trip to Vietnam to say good-bye.

Right after I came back, one body was recovered, then another and in April of this year, the remaining 4 men were buried at Arlington in a group burial. My brother was one of the group! They found some teeth and bone fragments, thats all. They said the bone fragments were too small for DNA testing. So, the teeth was all they had to go one. Can't you live without teeth?

I wrote a book called "Da Nang to Memphis". I'ts about my trips to Vietnam, my brother's Vietnamese wife and their son!

I found them after 25 years. I never knew about their son, but I did know that he had a wife. I did not even know her real name, but I took a picture of her to Da Nang and put it on TV and found her in Memphis.

Sincerely,

Linda G. Moreau

The only thing MISSING from this web-site is the truth. I have read www.ojc.org/powforum/schlatter and now know that your credibility on this issue is ZERO. You owe the American people a huge apology. I have informed my Congressman of this site and have asked him to open an investigation of your role in this particular situation. The American people deserve better than a lie-slinging fast talker to give them real information on POWs and MIAs. Your job was to PREVENT facts from coming out, and you did a good job at it. Now we know you for who you really are.

I read on 8/13 that Russia had returned a Hungarian POW who had been captured while fighting for the Nazis. He had reportedly been an "inmate" at a Russian psychiatric hospital. In lieu of the MANY reports of American POWs from WWII and Korea who had allegedly been shipped to the former Soviet Union, some sent to the gulags in Siberia, others to mental hospitals. . . do you think it would be prudent for our government to seek permission to "de-brief" this individual, asking him of any knowledge he might have of Americans he might have been held with ?

Gee Joe,paranoia seems to run deep in some of your responders! As a 23-year veteran of our last 3 wars, the question arises: "why would they hang on to our POW?" They could get much more by selling or trading them back to us. Having spent 7 years(61-63&64-69) in a Korean interrogation center, among the 1st questions asked of captured agents, defectors, fishermen, etc. (242 military & 715 civilians in my time) that came into the ROK pertained to any American POW or other detainees held in NK. Although some few had heard rumors, our frequent aerial photos of all of NK showed up none (other than the Pueblo crew). I guess it's natural to grasp at any straws if you've lost loved ones. Hang in there!

Have you ever noticed how Gritz seminars are kinda like rock con- certs. You can buy a book here for only $20 and a leaflet here for only $5.00 and a Tshirt for only $25.00. This man is only in it for the money. He has shown his true colors by the way he has treated his family. His last wife was probably tired of opening the damn mailbox and seeing letters from the IRS, Nazis (David Duke type of people) other scams, lawsuits, people wanting their money back. She was tired of being married to a charlitin. When the crap hit the fan and she wanted out, he was reportedly to have said that the devil must have her due. What Bo-she kissed your ass at those ridiculous seminars, tried to be a good wife while you were out running around and she wants out and she gets nothing. I have no respect for you, especially when you use to give your interpretations of world events. Next time you try to commit suicide hit yourself in the head or the heart. I have some mixed feelings and opinions regarding this site, but I can say that a lot of what is written here is found on other sites as well. I don't even like giving Bo recognition whether it be positive or negitive. The man served our country and now uses the knowledge that our country gave to him as a weapon. He has been in a lot of controversy over the years and he stands for what? He has been connected to all the "wrong" people in an attempt to begin a nation of his own beliefs. Can you say... "Anti-government"? On his web site he was advertising the sales of survival items. Why? Wht is this man holding trainings called "S.P.I.K.E."? Why is this man tied in with the Christian Identity if he was such the war hero that he plays to be? Why does he always misrepresent himself in uniform by not presenting his medals properly? Unless of course, HE himself nominated HIMSELF for the medals.... thus not having the knowledge of the proper presentation of these medals. This man has begun his own militia against Americans. He wants to live by his own rules and force his beliefs on others. Yeah, those who are followers end up getting sucked into the mix... but soon wake up to realize that they got screwed. I can give my own opinion on why all Bo's sites are down or "Under Construction"... there is a legal case going on in a town where one of Bo's "friends" is in question... a lot of information was retreived off of Bo's site to prove this mans involvement with Bo's "patriot movement" militia. Once the "friend" relized that the opposing party was retreiving information that would hurt the case, the sites disappeared. What I would like to know is what is the real story on the kidnapping case that happened in CT. The papers say that all parties involved, Bo, his son, and another man were aquitted due to a lack of evidence.... hmmmm... does this play a role in several other legal issues pertaining to Bo and some of his associates when it is time to enter the courtroom? I had also read somewhere that Bo was at it again attempting to build another "compound" somewhere in Texas, I am wondering what has become of that.. if anything. Why has Bo been the man to call upon when known militia members have gone off the deep end and stirred up controversy with our government? (i.e. Ruby Ridge, Eric Rudolph, etc.) And why if Bo has been so dedicated to finding our POW's was he enticed with cash, and again and again came home empyhanded? And what is he doing today about all this? Looks as though his dedicated has been placed elsewhere huh? People have their own opinions, but this man has, in my eyes, gotten WAY TOO MUCH publicity all for what? What has this man done that makes him so much more than any of the other men that fought for our country? Hell, he was one of the lucky ones as far as I am concerned... he made it home! I hear that Bo hands out "autographed" photos of himself... actually I KNOW this... how many of our REAL war heros do this? Just wondering....

Joe: I was Bo's partner for six years and handled the land sales in Idaho as well as worked as his partner in SPIKE and CFA. I have had a very bad fallout with him and have no doubt that he is a con-artist. But, in defense of him, I found some of your information twisted and incorrect. For example, you report as of 10/99 that people in Idaho were suing Bo because they couldn't get title to their land. Prior to my leaving in August 97 we had completed the transfer of all the property to a LLC in Nevada which effectuated the ability for people to get title. The problem prior to this is that the trusts that were set up to buy and sell the land could not obtain title insurance in Idaho. Thus, the quiet title action to turn the property over to the LLC and issue titles on the paid parcels. You may wish to contact Dennis Albers in Grangeville, Id for confirmation of this. If something new has happened since then I'm not aware of such.

If people are interested in my side of the story on real Bo Gritz, send $7.50 to Jerry Gillespie 1550 E. University Dr. #L-1 Mesa, Az. 85203.

The book lists Bo's assets, the Linda Wiegand trial, his divorce from Claudia, what really happened with the Almost Heaven property and much more.

Thank you

Mr. Gillespie:

Thank you for your comments re: Bo. My statement on folks suing Bo over Almost Heaven came from newspaper reports of the period.

The fact that an LLC (a limited liability coporation) has been formed is not likely to help many people. I would be surprised to find a title company that would issue title insurance on property that had been in a trust -- and not able to obatin title insurance -- and then was sold to an out-of-state LLC.

I am unemployed at present (Nov. 2000) but as soon as I get a few $$ ahead, I'll buy a copy of your book.

I just watched a show on Public television that showed many of the ex Pows talking about their horrible experiences in prison camps. It reminded me that I had worn a bracelet for a year or more back in 1972 and 73. My memory is so terrible I can't remember the name of the man who was on it. I'm going to try and find it and write to see what happened to him. I always wondered if he survived and got to go home. I thank the people who worked on the idea of the bracelets and I am very glad that I had the privelege of wearing one. The sacrifices these brave men made for their country makes me feel very proud of them and ashamed of myself for complaining about small things like a job I don't like or a house that seems too small. I wish I could tell everyone of them thank you and I admire and respect them with all my heart. Also, I greatly admire their wives for waiting, and hoping and praying for them. Even the ones who gave up after a while and remarried, because I know they tried.

I guess I am one of the people who you refer to as being part of a "cult" and I resent the reference very much. I have adopted 2 POW/MIA's and have worn a POW bracelet for years. I write letters to the government officials (they may not, as you say, actually DO anything to bring back POW/MIA's or to see that the search for them is continued but I will continue writing !) It's too bad that the U.S. government has such a history of dishonesty to the families of POW/MIA's... maybe if there had been more truth and less bullshit there wouldn't be a need to question so much of what we're told about POW/MIA's. I'd think that as a vet yourself, you'd be glad to know that there are citizens in America who would not forget you if you hadn't returned, and who would try their best to make sure that you weren't deserted in a foreign land. My opinion on the whole issue is that there was a cover-up when the war ended and to save face the government has continued to hold true to that cover-up rather than admit that, in our haste to leave Vietnam, some military personnel was left behind. Otherwise, I don't understand why SO many official defense documents are still considered classified OR have been "lost".

Enjoyed your articles on "All the Bad Actors in One Place" and " Revised: Earl Hopper Jr." Mark Smith is a big disappointment to me. I flew several missions in support of him just prior to his capture in 1972. The time he spent as a pow must have really fried his brain. A real shame! The list of items from the wreakage of Hopper's F-4 tells it all. Sure wish I could see a list of items recovered from Spectre 17s crash site, it should be extensive from an AC-130. You wrote back and said "efforts are already under way". . .etc., etc., to de-brief him. Well, that was four months ago. . . what are the results of the interview ? As you point at the "cultists" screaming "Liars, you take advantage of the POW/MIA issue for no other reason than $$$$." Joe Schlatter? why do you really put this time and effort into this web site? You must have a reason other than just being concerned about "your truth" being aired? hmmm? While some of the statements you make in this folly are without a doubt true..... much of it is nonsense, the rantings of a man who has proclaimed himself to be the "true light" of the POW/MIA issue. Sure Joe, the Vietnamese only hold French POW's the Koreans only hold S. Korean POW's...one other thing Joe, the Quang Document you state ...."The document uses the term "prisoners of war." The Vietnamese never referred to American captives as "prisoners of war;" they used the phrase "captured American military personnel." ....JOE??? Colonel, by now you have either watched or learned of the 1/16/01 episode of "60 Minutes II" that detailed the recent re-classification of Desert Storm pilot Michael Speicher from Killed in Action to MIA. The Navy's explanation: "We have no hard proof that he died".

What a profound and telling comment. That's essentially what "cult members" have been screaming about all these years. Explain to us as only you can the difference between Speicher's situation and several discrepancy cases from Vietnam in which we not only DID NOT have evidence of death, but DID HAVE evidence of their capture ? Why for instance, would we suddenly re-classify someone from MIA status to KIA/BNR solely on the passage of time ? We've seen the Vietnamese release French prisoners after nearly thirty years. . .what evidence do we have of Colonel Charles Shelton's death, for instance ? Of David Hrdlicka ? or Harley Hall ? etc., etc., etc. Not only are we uncertain that died, we know that they in fact survived their shoot-down and were ALIVE in captivity. How does our government justify that ?

For those of you interested to see the "1973 TH" E&E Signal, and to find out more about "Spectre 17" shoot down go to www.angelfire.com/ma2/georgemacdonald/. I would also like to correct Mr Schlater, as there were no dental records found at the Spectre 17 crash site identified as Thomas Hart's. In fact 11 of the 13 remains were found scientifically impossible to determine. As in most cases turned out from CILHI no DNA testing was conducted, and each of the 13 remains were charred bone fragments. I would be happy to send you Mr. Schlater, the 1985 "20/20" episode that shamed CILHI on the Spectre 17 indentifications. Proudly, Wendy Liles, daughter of Capt. Robert L. The web-site is WWW.OJC.ORG/POWFORUM/SCHLATTER For those of you writing term papers or just surfing in, please understand that the man hosting this web-site was paid by the U.S. Government for years to EXPLAIN AWAY each and every live-sighting report that ever surfaced. Just an idle observation: During the Senate Select Committe Hearings, two former Secretaries of Defense testified that they believed POWs were left behind. General Westmoreland has also shared that same opinion, as did former CIA Director William Casey. Why should we believe some rear-echelon desk-jockey Colonel's opinion when these superior ranked individuals (your bosses, I believe)all felt differently than you ? They were all in a better position to know the actual truth, don't you think ? What could you possibly know that they didn't ?

I can always tell when I've scored some points when this taxpayer-financed public servant calls me "uninformed and basically dumb" and then creates a separate site just to respond to ME.

It is important to note that he responded only to what he COULD respond to, completing ignoring my reference to WWW.OJC.ORG/POWFORUM/SCHLATTER which details how he was caught in a BALD-FACED LIE. He responded the way the USG has for years on this subject: When you can't attack the information, you try to discredit the source. Colonel, based on your lies in the APODOCA case, YOU have no credibility.

Let me CONDENSE his response to my comments on General Westmoreland and the two Secretaries of Defense who testified to the Senate Select Committee that they BELIEVED POWs had been left behind: "Their views were old and outdated, and they only knew what I told them, anyway."

As for CIA Chief Casey, the Colonel's sole explanation was that the Congressman who reported his comments is a LIAR. If you can't attack the information, discredit the source. It's worked for thirty years, why change tactics now ?

I happened to reach this site by accident, but I have to say that I am very impressed with your thought and decency on this subject. For many years, it has amazed me that our own Senators and Congressman have dragged our government and veterans through the mud for unseemly personal advantage. But even more amazing has been the lack of rebuttal in the press. These conspiracy theories are too cruel to let continue, and I thank you for speaking out. This is not a Republican or Democratic issue, this is an issue of decency, and it truly sickens me that those, like McCarthy, who would wrap themselves most tightly in the flag, would so casually dishonor for the sake of financial or political ambition

I was rather amused at your protrayal of Maj Mark Smith. You indicate that he is a drunk that hangs out the bars of Bangkok. I happen to know Mark a little better than you. I work as a network engineer for a company in Bangkok and I live about 75 meters from him and visit with him daily. He does NOT hang out in bars. The only bar he does go to (once every two or three months) is one at a tourist hotel, where he sings with a band that he helped start years ago. Joe, some of your other "facts", like the one I just referenced, are out and out lies. I have to wonder what your interest is, in trying to perform this character assasination. Do you still work for the DIA? Is it professional jealousy? I know that you never earned any awards for valor, even though other MI officers did but, does that mean you should lie about those brave servicemen that shed blood for this country? I'm not talking about the paper cuts that you got but, real wounds obtained in combat.

It's a work in progress, but my goal is to inform our young people that we do indeed have hero's from that conflict. It's at falcon4.nekromantix.com brewski

Served in Vietnam from Mar 66 to Jul 66 with 2/5 in the Chu Lai area. Jul 66 to Feb 67 with Col Bell 1/1 near Hoi An. Spend about three month as NCOIC of what later became to be known as a Combined Action Platoon and worked in the S-3 where I plotted all friendly forces and their Patrols. Returned to Vietnam in Sep 70 and served with the 3rd CIT in Vietnam until the team departed Vietnam and returned Okinawa in May 71 continued serving with the 3rd CIT until Oct 72. From Oct 72 to May 76 at the 2nd CIT and Froce Troops. From May 76 to Sep 79 served with the 11th CIT, HQFMFPAC. Again with the 3rd CIT from Sep 79 to Sep 80. Again with 11th CIT from Sep 80 to 83 and 3rd CIT from 83 to 88. As you can see from my resume I was in the right places at the right times to have some knowledge of Marine MIA/POWs. In 72 and 73 we prepared for and conducted Operation Homecoming. In 76 the 11th CIT had several safes full of files on MIA/POWs and there was three volumes on Garwood plus numerous tape recordings of his broadcasts. I read all three volumes and listened to all the tapes. Now I don't have total recall but I must say I found your information on him to be very factual. We also had books containing pictures of all the POW/MIAs and I can honestly say most of these pictures were so old or boot camp photos that making identifications from them was very unreliable. More than one family have identified the same pictures as their son. I live in Hawaii and have recieved several briefings from the ID Lab here. Most people are unaware of their efforts to bring our Marines/Airmen/Soldiers and Saliors home. Maybe a webpage lists their efforts and accomplishments would enlighten some of those who blasted you in you Guest Log. I don't agree with everything you say but you have the right to express your opinion. Aloha

Dear Colonel Smoke 'n Mirrors: Now that you have devoted yet another site to respond to comments that "merit no response", let's get one thing straight. Nothing that I ever say about you is "gratuitous". Why don't you respond ONCE AND FOR ALL to the fact that YOU LIED THROUGH YOUR TEETH when you denied ordering the FBI to destroy the map OVERLAY that was recovered from Major Apodaca's crash site ? You DENIED ordering this, yet the FBI Latent Fingerprint Section confirms it (file # 32-26795). I have been reading this guest book for some time, and have noticed several references to www.ojc.org/powforum.schlatter a web-site that DOCUMENTS your manipulation of facts and details. Anyone who even THINKS you should be believed should read this well-documented piece. And the rest of us will simply wait for you to explain away another lie, COLONEL. Don't attack the credibility of someone else this time. . .just explain the lie, okay ?

COL Schlatter,

Your site is interesting and thought-provoking, although I am not sure exactly where I would come down on the POW-MIA issue; I tend to suspect that there were at least some left behind, although I have serious doubts about the survival of any men at present.

Your site does, however, have some rather glaring inaccuracies, however. In the report on MAJ Mike Smith, you write:

<<SFDK, Thailand, and Worldwide Changes Smith's claims as to his experiences in the Special Forces Detachment - Korea (SFDK) are equally bogus. He was assigned to SFDK in 1982. The commander was LTC Bob Howard, a Medal of Honor recipient from Korea. Howard had some personal problems involving his family and his drinking. Howard was serving an unaccompanied tour in Korea -- that means his wife and family were back in the States and there were some family problems. Howard had developed a drinking problem and his family separation made things worse. He was sent back to Walter Reed for treatment of alcohol abuse and Smith became the acting commander SFDK>>

According to the Center of Military History, no Robert (or Bob) Howard recieved the Medal of Honor during the Korean War. There was a Robert Howard (later COL) who recieved the Medal during the Vietnam War. In _Stolen Valor: How the Vietnam Generation Was Robbed of its Heroes and its History_ by B. G. Burkett and Glenna Whitley, which you highly commend on your site, COL Robert Howard is praised as one of the two most highly decorated veterans of the war (Col George "Bud" Day, USAF [Ret.]) being the other one.

I've never met MAJ Smith or COL Howard, but I do have a problem with a senior officer such as yourself making a fairly egregious error (the wrong war -- and that is easily confirmed) and then assaulting the character of a holder of this nation's highest decoration.

Ref; John Obassy/Robin Gregson and the MIA video. Following his suicide in California in November 1992 I noticed a number of parallels between Robin Gregson and the late multi-aliased English "businessman" Ian Spiro. Like Gregson in Laos Spiro had created a fictitious life for himself in the Lebaonon (which features in the MIA video story). He duped Colonel North (who shared an office with Dick Childress) that he had some influence in the hostage situation because he had been to school with members of the Kuwaiti Royal Family. (In reality he had attended a jewish public school.) Spiro was involved in various "Hostage" scams (see David Jacobsen's memoirs.) Terry Anderson's sister Peggy Say was approached by one "Michael Trumpower" with some bizarre hostage rescue scheme. "Trumpower" shared with Say details of an initiative he had been involved in with Ross Perot. (Say called Perot's office who did not recognise the name "Michael Trumpower") Was the MIA video scam an attempt to generate a ransom for the Beirut hostages?

After almost 30 years, I came across an article in the June 98 Readers Digest about POW/MIA's. It lead me to No-Quarters.org which inturn to here. I've had 2 bracelets since the early 70's and have wondered over the years what had become of the persons named on them. Today, I found one of them and I'll try to contact the family to get a mailing address to mail it to them. After being in the Army for 12 years, these bracelets have always meant hope for me. Hope that if I were to become missing, I wouldn't be forgotten. For these soldiers, although maybe just a name on a bracelet, they have not been forgotten.

Thank You for being here...

Just on break from work and found this site. I know you. I worked in the Sigint Requirments Branch of DIA when you were in charge of the POW/MIA section. Worked closely with your people to get your requirements on the book with NSA. After five years at DIA I was selected to work at Stony Beach in Thailand (1992-1994). I was not impressed with that operation. Col. John Cole greeted me at the door with "Oh, so you are the hotshot major we have heard so much about." Things went down from there. The whole Stony Beach effort was a political disaster IMHO. They did not seek the truth but danced to the prevailing politics of the time. It was a very unpleasant time for me. I did get to work with Dr. Timothy Castle and some other "good" guys. Anyway, your site has been bookmarked and I will return often. Also, I know Mark Smith. He is a true believer (this, of course, does not mean that what he believes is "true") . I also had the pleasure of meeting "Bo" Gritz at a local gun show here in Tulsa last months. Spent about 30 minutes visiting with him. Actually he visited with me because he does not listen - just talks. Nice guy (as in a true believer).

While interviewing a former SF guy in Chiang Rai, I found out about a "stay behind" in Laos. This guy sounded like those "servicemen" talked about by Necci. MMMmmm. I wonder if these guys are POWs or just guys who like the Lao ladies? Believe it is the latter.

Again, great site. I currently live in Bangkok but am a grad student now at OSU-Tulsa. Drop me a line if you get a chance.

Impressive - I haven't read everything but at a VFW last night I was given a POW bracelet so that I could carry the honor of Capt. Jack R. Harvey (11-28-72). How do I find out more about Capt. Harvey? I know he is from Gardiner,ME but much more than that I don't know.

I do believe that there’s still POW`s in Vietnam and other countries. We have a similar case in Norway where Norwegian men and women escaped to Russia/Soviet from Norway during the German occupation 1940-45, many of these was arrested by the Soviet secret service before the training to become partisans or after they came back from missions in occupied Norway. Other Norwegians did also disappeared when they was arrested by the Soviet when they was out on the sea to fish. ( This is Norwegians basically from Finnmark the northern state with a borderline to Russia )There was also Norwegian settlers that was trapped behind the Soviet border after the 1917 revolution who was sent to the Gulag camps in Siberia. The Norwegian effort to find these people, and find out where they are and what that happened with them have been shameless. Only because they don’t want and wanted to offend the Russian/Soviet government. Its been proved that there still is family members alive after many off these Norwegians that was captured, and many of those who were captured and survived the gulag camps lived in the soviet union to their death trapped behind the iron curtain. The effort by the Norwegian government to bring these back have been a shame, they have done from nothing to very little. So, why cant it be US, French, Australians or others POW`s in SEA? I do believe it is. I do also believe that many remains of POW/MIA never will be returned because then they will see that these soldiers have been alive a long time after the war, because they died in a prisoner camp. I am a soldier my self, when I see what my government did for those that was captured by the Russian, I can only say one thing. I will never been taken alive in a combat situation. I will also honour those of you that came back and those who didn’t. I have met many fine US service men and women’s during my years in the Norwegian army, and I have talked to many fine family members of active and retired service men/women that is proud of the country and your armed forces. You are truly a Patriotic country.

If all living POWs were returned, then they(NVA, VC...etc.) must have let a lot of them die...and murdered a great number of them. There were plenty of men lost on classified missions ....some of them known to have been captured and never returned...Our(US) government is very quiet about these men. I saw a Cobra pilot captured about 2,000 meters west of A-2(ARVN)outpost on Nat'l rt1 in 1969, he appeared to be not wounded when captured....But just north of the capture site "...a large white male, naked, torso intact was observed staked out near the Ben Hai River"(probly the pilot I saw captured) This was observed by a FO in a Birddog and his "Cat-Killer"(pilot). The FO descrided it as one of the most desturbing sights he had ever wittnessed in Nam."Staked out head east, feet west...""...eventualy made two very low passes...' "...could not ensure if he was dead or alive...no movement..." ....think about it...other than a few jet-jockies....very few men/POWs were returned....and not really all that many bodies...very few of those that the enemy had placed "bounties"on were returned. ...How many SF, LRRP,...sgts cp or pvts were returned....not hardly any!.... They may all be dead now but when their country sold them out...there was a real likelyhood that there were many of them ...alive and abandoned...by a very ungreatful ...government and nation. Mr. Moore:  Your comments are basically uninformed.  As to the story about the individual who was seen "staked out" -- I doubt it.  Why, in the midst of combat, in contact with US units, would a PAVN unit stop to "stake out" and torture a prisoner? And, if the story has a bit of truth in it, what makes you think that this individual was never recovered?   Get serious.  There is not a single report to corroborate your claim.  I spent six years reading reports from the war about captured and missing Americans and never saw any such report.  As for your contention that mainly aviators returned, perhaps you should stop and think about something.  All captured US infantry soldiers -- and this includes LRRPs, SF, Marines, Army, and the like -- were captured in South Vietnam, Laos, or Cambodia.  As such, they were held in jungle camps under abominable conditions and many of thenm did not survive.  Most of the aviators captured were in North Vietnam -- while their treatment was brutal, at least they were held inside established prisons, at least they had some level of medical care, exercise, and food.  This difference made a difference in survival rates.

Am I the only one who has observed that anytime someone writes something that the Colonel either wasn't previoiusly aware of, or doesn't agree with. . . then that person is simply UNIFORMED ?

Here we have (from the contribution from Charles Moore) a man "on the scene" making a FIRST-HAND LIVE EYEWITNESS REPORT (something the Colonel has never been able to provide) which was also corraberated as well by a FO and his birddog pilot.

Colonel Schlatter's classic response ? IT CAN'T BE TRUE BECAUSE I'VE NEVER READ A REPORT ABOUT IT!!

Gee, Colonel, maybe you're just now getting the report. Perhaps you should write it up yourself.

It's so easy to understand now why MILITARY INTELLIGENCE is such a classic OXYMORON.

Nice article about the history of the bracelets. I wore a bracelet and was a member VIVA in the 1970's. I did some speaking for the organization. I now teach High School U.S. History and Government.

Excellent site!!! Truly excellent. I was an MIA activist -- I fell for their crap then I began to question some of the stuff I heard. When that happened, I was attacked. I discovered this site six months ago and have read every article at least twice. You are right on. Keep it up and don't give the professional "activists" any peace.

Joe, do you remember how "We Supported" each other in Vietnam?

Arty FO's have "Saved My Butt" many times, so to a certain degree, I Owe my life to arty FO's.

However, I also OWE many other individuals who like Bo Gritz and Colonel David Hackworth served in Vietnam and did their job.

Joe, when "the S_ _T hits the fan" and the bullets are flying IT IS TOO LATE to discuss WHY we are fighting. The one and only GOAL at this time is TO SURVIVE by joining together and SUPPORTING One Another.

As an arty FO in Vietnam, YOU by all means should KNOW the IMPORTANCE of SUPPORT because it is a fact that "Artillery Support Can Save Lives".

IS it possible that all of us stop the double-talking, back-stabbing, bull-s__t and "REUNITE and REMEMBER" our buddies who MIGHT** still be alive.

**MIGHT: In my opinion, it is better to hold onto a glimmer of hope concerning the possible existence of surviving POW / MIA than to completely Give Up All Hope and totally doom them to death by refusing to believe in any possibility what-so-ever of their existence.

Joe, can you think of someway that all of us can Join Together and Support One Another like we did in Vietnam?

I was reading your article on Spectre 17 and had to laugh at your knowledge of C-130A. There are not any liquid oxygen lines in the aircraft. LOX was stored in a 25 liter converter located in the right side of the nose wheel well compartment, out side of the bulkhead of the aircraft.. The converter was also one of the few things on that aircraft that is armored plated. In the converter, liquid oxygen is changed to a steady gaseous pressure for the air crew and the gas is routed through the aircraft. The location of the LOX converter would not allow JP4 and Liquid Oxygen to, " Fuel and liquid oxygen are sloshing around in the cargo compartment". LOX does not do well in normal temperature and atmospheric pressures and in those condition flashes to gas.

You would have your readers believe That Liquid Oxygen would flow through the nose wheel well, in a liquid form, flow through the avionics compartment and air conditioning compartment then flow into the cargo compartment where it would slosh around and mix with JP-4.

There was a massive SECRET air war over Laos and Cambodia. I was a volunteer on the Blind Bat missions and worked as a auxiliary load master over the Ho Chi Minh trail in Laos. Both Spectre and our aircraft flew from Ubon Thailand. Blind Bat was a forward air control mission that vectored other aircraft to targets on the trail. All crews shot down in Laos were listed as MIA Vietnam. If we were shot down, our crew briefings were for us to walk INTO Vietnam.

You seem to add myths of your own. You claim to be an expert, yet your false statements do not lend very much credibility to your site.

Mr. Cowger:

The comment about liquid oxygen and fuel "sloshing around" in the cargo area is a quote from one of the guys who was blown from the aircraft.

I am fully aware of the facts that:  the normal state of oxygen is gaseous; it can be liquified only under high pressure and very low temperature; and once the pressure is released, the liquid oxygen returns to its normal state -- a gas.  I will modify the imprecise wording in my article to reflect that fact that the LOX was gaseous once it leaked from ruptured lines.

Several facts remain: (1) the 37mm anti-aircraft fire (the 37 round explodes on impact) ruptured hydraulic and LOX lines, thus releasing oxygen and hydraulic fluid into the cargo compartment; (2) the 37mm rounds had ruptured a fuel tank, causing fuel to pour into the cargo compartment; and (3) the mixture of aviation fuel, hydraulic fluid, and pure oxygen is explosive and that's what happened -- it exploded.

Keep up the good work. I served 15 years in the United States Navy as a AZ (Aviation Maintenance Administrationman). Most of my days I was up to my chin in paperwork and computer disks. During that time I met three SEALS. Since my discharge in 1999, I have met countless numbers of SEALs and other special ops guys. It's sad that someone would pretend to be one of these special people. I think these people have a low sense of self worth. If you never served, don't say you did. If you have served be proud of what you did. I moved papers around and I am proud to have served in the greatest Navy around. Enough soap box! Keep up the good work.

Joe, I Have Just Read Your Glorification Of The Book Stolen Valor. I Find It Interesting That You Will Take So Much Detailed Time In Tearing Apart Other Books For What You Claim Are Lies,Untruths & Misinformation. You Give People The Impression That Any Book Written With Errors Of Any Kind Is Very Bad!

What I Want To Know Joe Is, Why Have You Not Afforded These Same Standards To Stolen Valor? How Can You Write All These Great Things About Stolen Valor While Sitting There Knowing That Burkett Out And Out Lied In The Book Saying I Was Never In the Service? I Have Sent Documentation To Burkett/Whitley And You Have Advised Them They Are In Error On Me, Yet They Allow This UNTRUTH To Stand In The Book And I Note That You Are Totally Silent On This Matter!

I Could Care Less What Most People May Think Of Me Joe, But You Know The Truth Here And You Dont Say One Word Regarding It...WHY? Will You Be The Honest Man You Claim To Be And Tell The Truth On The Page You Praise The Book Stolen Valor...Including The Fact That YOU Advised Burkett/Whitley They Were Wrong About Me And They Have Done Nothing To Correct It?

DIA's efforts are anti-productive to any truthfull resolution of the POW/MIA questions remaining from the war in SEA.

You should be ashamed of yourself for forming a career, and more, around the betrayal of American fighting men and their families.

I loved your trashing of Roger Hall. I used to work at a service bureau in Silver Spring where he was a regular customer, and can attest to his character. It doesn't surprise me at all that he called that archivist a "dumb bitch."

Hall would rip us off when using the self-serve copier; i.e. making 50 copies and only paying for 30. When the shop manager found this out, he made it a rule to start counting every copy Hall made before figuring the charges. Apparently the 40% discount we were already giving him wasn't enough.

Hall came to us to design his business cards. He gave me a sketch of what he wanted and I came up with a rought draft. He looked at it and pointed out a couple of typos, which took about 3 minutes to fix. When he found out that the charge for graphic design was $75/hour (apparently the manager hadn't told him this), he accused me of "jackin' him up," and walked out, slamming the door behind him. He came back a few hours later to argue with the manager for a discount. He showed the manager and two of my coworkers the first draft I had made, pointed out the typos, and said that I "wasn't worth 5 bucks an hour." He eventually got the discount.

When Hall came in the following week to pick up his order, he walked right by me as if I was invisible. Then I noticed an unpleasant odor. He had "greeted" me by passing gas.

Great site! And your "Stolen Valor" review is tops. But where is Mr. Burket of Dallas when most we need him NOW? I'm in the local CWT Program, and let me tell you: there's folks there that can't even remember which branch of the service they were in, yet are otherwise very clever and manipulative. I've seen phony "birth certificates" proudly displayed, heard stirring "huh-hush" tells of intrepid Air Force (??) "squad members in Vietnam (??)" one of whom got an immediate combat-promotion to "Captain" thanks to taking over said USAF Odd-Squad (or whatever fantasy unit it supposedly was)etc. One young man turing 44 this next week told all of his coworkers yesterday that "PTSD" made the noise of a bumped table sound "like bullets ricocheting" (sp?) Give me a break! So far my armchair guess is we're looking at a minimum range of 3-5% phonies and a possibly maximum range of phonies of -- maybe -- 9 to 12% out of every 100 cwt/twe participants, both downtown at 901 S. Ervay, and out at the Dallas VAMC. Plus, the both the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Texas State Penitentiary Sytems maybe sending down a lot of overflow on some sub-contracting basis with the VA, I'm not sure. Perhaps through "Project Rio?"

Anyway, the GAO would have no problem in uncovering a few examples of tax payers money being squandered here in Dallas, were they interested in one of their famous audits. Semper Fi!

Dennis Paul Morony (formerly) I Corps, RVN, Nov. 66 to Nov. 69 (minus 2 and 1/2 months, when stateside)in the USMC's Fox 2/1, Hotel 2/27, 106 platoon of H & S 1/3, and CACO 2-7.

PS A lot of that PTSD is BALONEY, especially when "diagnosis" is based on that much-ballyhooed "Mississippi Combat Test" Hey! Any punk with enough brains to stay in the military long enough to be kicked out on a section 8 (or whatever it's called) can readily guess which answers will give him (or her) the jackpot.

I emailed you a couple of days ago with some questions but I'm not sure that it got to you due to my computer having a processor problem. I'd like to ask the same questions here if it's okay. Why are all the documents I've seen released so heavily censored? I cannot believe that with all the information out there on the equipment and people of this war that there could be anything that would still require classification on these incident reports. For example, if a shoot down report is 20 pages long, why is only 2 or 3 heavily censored pages published? As an ex-intel officer, surely you can see that this looks suspicious to the public. Every time I see censored documents that are 30 + years old, it bothers me. The first thing that comes to mind is "What are they hiding from me now?" The equipment used at that time is either obsolete or so well known around the world that classification doesn't make sense. I wonder if it's still classified because of the people involved? If so what do they have to hide? Why does not the government just publish these old reports in their entirety without all the censorship and put an end to all the questions and remove the reason for all the "conspiracy" theorists out there? I do know that I'd feel a lot better about it if the government did come clean and settle the matter in a way that was open and honest. I am hoping that with your background you can answer these questions. Thank You, Matt Jacobson

Nice site. Just read chapter on MIA's in Laos and am wondering about this: exactly how many pilots were seen bailing out of planes over Laos, safely landing on the ground uninjured, were not picked up by rescue forces and captured by the Pathet Lao. That is the true number of actual captures vice those who were killed on their shoot down date through crashed on terrain. An exhausitive chapter on this should be created.

Congrats on a good work. Having worked the POW/MIA issue for years and being stumped by Senators McCain and Kerry this is a breath of fresh air. For you who question that your gov't left our men behindin Nam, I offer this;"Lt Gen Lacey stated that he interviewed Col Dean Andrew Pogreba in a Hanoi Prison in 1989. " This is on the record testimony and I have a copy of this in my possession. McCain and Kerry are both liars, Is BO? Time will tell, I do know this..Bo Gritz has a credibility problem and he has turned up in some strange places with some strange people (Laos & Kuhn Sah). Was Bo assisting the flow of drugs out of S.E.Asia? Maybe so maybe not, and maybe only Bo knows. What we do know is this "in all of his attempte at so called rescue of a living POW/MIA Bo never came out with ONE and always had a patsy for his failures. Do I believe Bo? Not as far as you can spit into the wind. Should you believe Bo? Same answer. William Cooper called Bo a Trojan Horse which is a nice way of saying that Bo is deceitful and far from honest. My advice to Bo on his attacks on Christian churches is this.."Figure out who your God is Bo before you attack mine or anyone elses. You have your little seperatist encampment in Idaho, stay there and out of the news. America does not need Bo Gritz as its Saviour, Christ Jesus took care of thet 2,000yrs ago. Joe, Before you get the big head from my first entry let me clear something up. The congrats was for your work on Bo Gritz and his pandering of himself for himself.. You and the DPMO morans wouldn't know a POW/MIA if one came up and bit you in the ass. You bad mouth Hendon and Senator Smith when you should swear out arrest warrants for McCain, Kerry, Daschle and the likes. A couple of years ago you sent some of your stooges down here (Houston Tx) and tried to put the blind-fold on the family members and veterans who know that you government and military stooges are a pack of BS artists. There were men left behind in Nam and you jerks white washed the whole stinking mess. The time of retribution will come for all of you when you have to face your creator and be judged for your sins against some of the best damned fightimg men that ever lived. The fact that they are now most probably dead is "They are dead because you bastards covered it up and said, They all came home". If BS was brass you guys could have the worlds biggest marching band. It is people such as yourself that disgrace the uniform, You sell out your comrades and brothers for what? They ain't ggoing to make you no damned General Joe! The gov't knows you are a sell out puke and will not, ever, turn their backside to you. They couldn't take the screwing you would give them if some one offered you a better deal. Like I said before Joe read the testimony of General Lacey and then tell me that we brought all of our men home! You are a real jerk Joe...learn to live with it and go quietly into civilian life. The second bracelet was lost when the US Army said I could not wear it when I arrived at basic training in 1977. In 1988 the Navy said I could wear the bracelet while in uniform so I requested the same name I wore the second time around. Thanks for the reminder about how it all started. COL KLINK, you must feel like a real ass, you were in a position to do good concerning the MIA/ POW while in DC but like your site you screwed that up too.The part in your coments about the c130 having a horn for the jump bell is bullshit, Ive logged 1000 hrs on them and have never seen a horn, always a bell plus there is no way pure oyx mixed with jp4 in the cargo area . the ac 130A was 12-14 crew the ac 130E was 15. Yes, there were other gunships that had gotten hit with SA2 and 37mm and made it back. What really impresses me the most about your Spectre site is that your source of imformation on 17 wasent even in sea at the time of loss, he was back in the usa probly drunk on his ass telling war stories out in Texas where men are men and sheep are nervious. There is a rumor going around in Tenn that you and a certain gunner last name of SPIERS are gay lovers maybe that would explain why you chose to lash out at women who dont agree with your opinions. Its a real pity that you never got any awards for valor in SEA, most REMF never did. Happy New Year and remember to observe safe sex because we sure dont need any more BASTARDS like you in TENN.

Hey Col, that last entry is a real laugher. The author (unknown) don't know much about Gunships, but knows a lot about gays. So we know what his/her experiance is in. My record speaks for itself. I'm big enough to sign my work. Spectre and Proud of It and If You Ain't Spectre, well a good Spectre knows the rest. Jim Spier

The preceding item from "You figure it out" was posted by two clowns, Doug Wandoff and Jennifer Martinez. Apparently, these two had a bit too much New Year's eve cheer because, in addition to posting nonsense on my guestbook, they sent equally stupid e-mails to a number of people -- who have shared those e-mails with me.

To read more about Wandoff and Martinez, read this article: http://www.miafacts.org/spectre17.htm

I appreciate your telling the truth about the POW/MIA issue. I also liked the layout of the site--fast and easy to browse. I've learned a lot from my time here. Thanks again, Colonel.

A few comments on the above "you Figure It Out" message. The AC-130 did have 100% oxygen stations availible to the crew. 100% oxygen in a gaseous state still does not mix with any petroleum product. This is why the Life Support Personnel instructed the crew never to clean their oxygen mask with anything that had any type of oil in it. I do not know of any AC-130 that took a direct hit from a SA-2 and made it home. That would be a hard task for any aircraft. Several AC-130 took hits from SA-7s and made it home. I have never claimed I was in SEA during the loss of Spectre 17, I had left one week prior. One of the co-authors of "You Figure It Out" was there at the time and was even on station at the Spectre 17 crash site. He said he was not there, then said he was there. Damn was he drunk on the mission? He also needs to take a hard look at his co-author, he might be better off with a sheep. Jim Spier

One thing about this issue has always remained consistent. Whenever the government, or someone who represents the government, is asked a question they cannot answer (or would prefer not to) they usually side-step it by trying to question or detroy the credibility of where the information came from. This is what appears to be happening when you totally ignored Rick Giesenschlag's comments about a General Lacey who allegedly interviewd American Colonel Dean Andrew Pogreda in a Hanoi prison in 1989. You never commented on that at all, Colonel. You just responded by telling everyone that Giesenshlag was "associated" with people who had vivid imaginations. Gosh, that certainly wraps it up for me. That explains away the Hanoi interview completely. Thanks for clearing that one up, and insulting the intelligence of anyone who might have been expecting a real answer.

The Bracelet I wear, and have worn is for Joe Matejov, 6994 SS,Baron 52 backender. Hawaii says it found one of his teeth. I served at NSA from 76-80 and the 6924ESS from 80-84. I have my doubts.

Joe, you are doing a good job here...and for all of those writing comments to bash......shame on you!!!!Where do you get off blaming deaths on this man?He is not the one who fired the gun or launched the bomb etc that killed your loved one.And believe me it isn't that I don't care.My husband is at this point active duty USN and there are countless veterans in my family.I believe that there are POW/MIA's out there .But I also believe that a certain percentage may be staying by choice.I understand you need closure but to blame a death on someone who did not cause it.....shame on you!!!!!And as far as all the comments that refer to this as , and I quote, "Bullshit", I have one question...how do you know that's what it is?Do you know this for sure?Beyond a shadow of a doubt?I didn't think so.If there are any POW/MIA's still alive out there, calling one person's opinion OR fact bullshit isn't going to get them home any quicker. You have your right to grieve for certain, and you are certainly entitled to your opinions even though they may be bullshit in themselves.I will say this....Mr Schlatter is a Col. for a reason.Give some respect where it is due.Just the same as your missing loved one is owed a debt of gratitude, Col.Sclatter was there as well and deserves a debt of gratitude himself. After all were it not for him, the POW/MIA's and others like them, you might not have the freedom to be bashing him.

I really appreciated the information on your site. I recently found my old POW/MIA bracelet that I thought was lost and gone forever. Having lost the bracelet back in the 70s and having been a less-than-focused teenager, I never thought to find out if my "hero" returned. Thank you so much for providing the information to find out now. Sincerely, ww

I'm am a veteran of recent years, and This Col. remainds me of some of the Officers I worked for.. Dead from the neck up. I understand this site Here he basicly saying there no one left behind.. If so, Why is this an issue? Why is there so many men still missing? And no opne moved to the former USSR.. Then why is there reports of them? If another country goes to them, it is easily to control them so they will not look in the right direction.. Come on, think!!! If you were holding pow's and do not want them to go back, would you hide them when you know someone is looking? Let's work on bringing them Home vice denying them COL.

Well,Joe here I am checking to see if there have been any updates to your site.As always, the guestbook log has proven to be a great source of amusement.A recent Vet are you?Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the most recent war to the one going on Desert Storm?I was just a little kid during Desert Storm so that's not very recent. As for why this is "such a big issue" Perhaps it is the people like our friend Mr Recent Vet that are making such an issue of it.That post was almost as amusing as some of the email I have gotten since I last posted. By the way, to those sending it, you know who you are.I will not give you the honor of mentioning your name.I will say only this.I don't recall ever asking for your opinion and the only thing that the nasty little emails you are sending me serve to do is amuse me that much farther.Joe, I don't know why you even bother with these raging idiots.

Well, sir, you have a major effort underway here, and are to be commended. I think it terrible the MIA "ring" or whatever wants to exclude you, as your work is certainly a breath of fresh air. Please do not misunderstand me. It appears, from a cursory examination, that you have been drawn into a "debunking" posture where none is called for. I note you say missing POW's from Korea has been the object of investigation and "negotiation" for fifty years. My uninformed impression from grazing the literature is that it was, in contrast to the Vietnam situation, an accepted fact that some American POW's were not returned, beyond the known defectors, and there are official contemporanious statements to this effect. It was, as I recollect tied in with negotiations on our involuntarily returning all North Korean POW's including those who wanted to stay. If I am wrong, so be it.

I was initially a proponent of your position, and then became convinced that where there is smoke, there is some fire. I am surprised you did not mention the case of the Korean soldier, in his eighties, who was returned not from Vietnam, but from the Kamchatka Pennensula (spelling). This was in the Wash. Post about ten years ago. I looked into it, and it appeared to be true. This was a Korean, a member of the Japanese Imerial Army (Korea was a colony). I actually talked to a State Department official about him. There was a problem: He was Korean. Japanese are not interested in Koreans any more. The Koreans are not interested in POW's from the Japanese Army, and so on. However, it is inescapable that this is, indeed a true story of a soldier being held for over forty years by the Soviets, from what I have been able to determine. The Soviets had their reasons: The area was a sensitive communications center. Another twist is the USA is involved, as guess who was running Japan for a long time when the fellow could have been recovered and was not? MacArthur. I am not a part of any "myth" crowd, to be treated in perhaps the same way you have been treated. However, as a final point, your calling all these folks crazies and worse does not help the cause of the truth. Surely there are those who are reasonable people on the other side. I understand you said so at the beginning of your site, but I have yet to find one mentioned in my admittedly casual review. Thanks for your efforts. I am glad to have found what is an obvious resource.

The fact is: members were downed; locator beacons were activated; members were taken prisoner...especially in Laos and Cambodia...; and those members have NOT been accounted for!

Fact: "Remains" are being surfaced thirty plus years after the fact.

Fact: Numerous accounts (by the North Vietnamese and our own POWs) clearly indicate that members "died in captivity" and were buried.

My direct question to you is: Given JUST those facts, how do you rationally, directly explain this statistically impossible scenario?

I do find that you attack sources, but fail to refutre the fact that there are missing, dead, etc., and that the enemy certainly has knowledge of these facts and locations. Your efforts to refute any and all suspicions are essentially "sour grapes".

If, as you seem to claim so steadfastly, there are NO POW/MIAs alive anywhere; please explain what happened to them and where their remains are (especially given that remains certainly are "discovered" so regulalrly...not by our search tems, but by the enemy themselves!

Debunk if you will (but please do do with fact, not personal attack or attempt at discrediting the statements and actions of others who hold the belief that there are Missing that can be repatriated!

I spent far more time reading your rebuttals than necesary...in a nutshell, you do NOT provide a shed of evidence that Missing do NOT exist...in fact, your attempts to discredit those theories makes this suspicion even more plaausable!

Sir: I have read some of your commentary and it is refreshing and informative. I wish you luck in trying to bring people enlightenment and closure on this issue. I hope that we do not have a problem of MIAs because of what is going on overseas at this time.
